The Columbia Club Indianapolis Wedding: Elegant Florals with a Hint of Purple
Designing wedding florals at The Columbia Club Indianapolis is always a highlight for us, and Sam and Amanda’s wedding was no exception. Though we worked closely with their planner, Emily Ventura, it was clear from every interaction that this couple was incredibly kind and so in love. This spring celebration came to life with a refined floral palette and one of our favorite ceremony setups to date.
A Historic Downtown Gem
The Columbia Club is one of downtown Indianapolis’s most iconic venues. With stained glass windows, ornate ceilings, dramatic lighting fixtures, and marble floors, it offers an elegant and historic atmosphere that feels grand without being overwhelming. It's truly one of our favorite venues to design in.
The space carries so much character, and it inspired us from the start. Every floral decision was made to complement, not compete with, the architecture.
A Classic Palette with a Twist
Emily Ventura has an exceptional eye for design, and working with her on this wedding was a joy. We landed on a mostly white floral palette with subtle hints of purple woven throughout, bringing a soft uniqueness to an otherwise timeless color scheme.
Tulips, clematis, and ranunculus were the floral standouts. These spring blooms were in peak form—textural, fresh, and full of movement. Their natural shapes worked beautifully with the structured elegance of the venue.
A Standout Ceremony Installation
The ceremony was one of our favorite parts of this wedding. We designed a unique floral structure, intentionally shaped to feel fresh and different while still grounded in elegance. After the ceremony, the installation was repurposed for Amanda and Sam’s paper crane escort table, giving it a second life and tying together key moments of the day.
We also incorporated our crystal candelabras, a rental option available to all Duet Floral clients. Their height and sparkle worked perfectly with The Columbia Club’s ornate decor, adding a layer of visual interest to the overall reception setup.

Thoughtful Design, Personal Touches
While we didn’t get to work closely with Sam and Amanda directly, their warmth and style came through in every detail. We’re always grateful to partner with couples and planners who trust us to bring a vision to life with intention and care.
Tips for Engaged Couples
- Spring flowers like tulips, clematis, and ranunculus offer beauty and texture at their seasonal best.
- Don’t be afraid to add a hint of color to a mostly white palette—it can create a design that feels fresh yet timeless.
- Repurposing ceremony florals for reception features is a smart, sustainable way to get more from your floral investment.
- Rentals like crystal candelabras add height and elegance, especially in venues with dramatic architecture.
