Dahlia-Filled Wedding at The Sixpence
A Colorful Sixpence Wedding with Peach Dahlias and Lime Green Florals
Peach dahlias, lime green flowers, and tables filled with fresh fruit. Julia and Hale’s Sixpence wedding brought together everything we love about late-summer floral design, with a bold, artistic twist.
For their ceremony and reception at The Sixpence in Whitestown, just north of Indianapolis, the couple wanted something that felt distinctly their own. We paired blush, peach, and orange with an unexpected pop of lime green, creating a design that nodded to the approaching fall while holding onto the freshness of summer.
The result felt like bringing the outside in, a beautiful fit for a venue surrounded by nature.
The Sixpence: A Bright Backdrop for Colorful Wedding Flowers
The Sixpence’s white walls gave us a beautiful backdrop for Julia and Hale’s colorful flowers. Against the bright interior, every shade of peach, orange, and green stood out, allowing the floral design to become a focal point of the celebration.
When we design for a space like this, we consider how the flowers will look within the entire room. For Julia and Hale, abundant blooms and a distinctive palette brought warmth and personality to the setting while complementing its clean lines.
It’s one of the reasons we included The Sixpence in our guide to Indianapolis wedding venues. The space offers so much room to interpret a couple’s style through flowers.
A Peach and Lime Green Wedding Palette
Julia and Hale wanted their wedding to stand out. Peach was a beautiful starting point, and we recommended adding lime green to give the palette a fresh, modern direction.
That one addition opened up so many possibilities. Bells of Ireland brought their distinctive shape and height, while Mojito hydrangeas added fullness and bright green color. Alongside blush, peach, and orange flowers, those green accents made the arrangements feel lively and unexpected.
We loved how the palette captured the transition between seasons. The warmer colors hinted at fall, while the lime green kept the overall design feeling fresh and summery.
Hundreds of Locally Grown Dahlias
The timing of this wedding gave us access to one of our favorite late-summer flowers: locally grown dahlias.
We sourced hundreds through the Indiana Flower Collective and incorporated them into the centerpieces. Their full blooms brought beautiful texture and variety to the arrangements, making the flowers feel connected to the season.
Local sourcing was an especially lovely part of this design. We could work with what was flourishing nearby and let those flowers help shape the finished look.

Wedding Tables Styled with Flowers and Fruit
Flowers shared the spotlight with grapes, oranges, and peaches on the reception tables.
The fruit echoed the floral palette and added another layer of shape and texture. Peaches picked up the softer tones in the arrangements, oranges reinforced the warmer colors, and grapes brought a different form to the table design.
Together, the flowers and fruit created the abundant, nature-inspired feeling we were after. It was a playful detail that still felt thoughtful and cohesive.
We love when couples are open to exploring materials beyond flowers. In this case, the fruit became an essential part of the design and one of the details that made the reception feel so personal.
Thoughtful Details with Annie & Co Events
Julia and Hale were referred to us by Annie at Annie & Co Events, and we were so happy to collaborate with her again.
Annie has an excellent eye for style. Her selections for the signage, linens, and flatware helped bring the floral and fruit displays into a complete table design. Each element supported the palette, making the room feel considered from the larger floral moments down to the place settings.
That collaboration is such an important part of our work. Flowers have the most impact when they connect naturally with the other details around them.
Kind Words from Julia and Hale
Seeing the finished design come together was wonderful. Hearing how much the couple loved it made it even better:
“They made our dream florals become a reality!”
Julia and Hale also shared how much they appreciated our team’s creativity, responsiveness, and professionalism throughout the process. We were so grateful for their trust and the opportunity to create something this expressive for their celebration.
More Sixpence Wedding Inspiration
One of our favorite things about returning to a venue is seeing how differently each couple makes it their own.
For another colorful interpretation of the space, explore Jenna and Bobby’s Sixpence wedding. Their celebration featured coral peonies, French blue details, and a spring garden-party feel.
Julia and Hale’s peach dahlias, lime green accents, and fruit displays brought an entirely different perspective to the same setting.
